Thane to Get 19 EV Charging Stations; TMC to Earn Revenue

Thane city will soon have 19 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations as part of its push towards sustainable and eco-friendly transport. The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has reserved specific plots across the city exclusively for EV charging infrastructure.

These charging stations will be developed and operated by private operators, while the land will remain with the civic body. Under this model, TMC will earn revenue from the project, ensuring an additional source of income along with improved public infrastructure.

The initiative is expected to encourage the use of electric vehicles, reduce carbon emissions, and strengthen Thane’s readiness for the growing demand for EVs in the coming years.
