4-day Times Sanskruti Art festival to show its Colours yet again in City

THANE: The picturesque Upvan Lake will come alive once again with the illumination of its periphery to extend a rousing reception to the much-awaited Thane's Times Sanskruti Art Festival. The event will be unfolded on January 12 amid thousands of Thaneites besides many celebrities from different spectrum.

The four-day-long art and cultural extravaganza has entered its fourth year in a row. The spectacle will continue till January 15 with early morning and evening performances. Considering the overwhelming response in the last three seasons, the organisers are hoping that the fourth edition of the event will be much bigger in terms of crowd presence and level of performances.

The festival strives to create an assemblage of renowned and upcoming artistes over the years. The organisers have invited performers that represent many communities and have produced and curated a variety of interesting new concepts that will bring out the incredible beauty, colour and cultural heritage of the many states of India to this festival.

The festival will feature renowned performers like Rahul Sharma, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Javed Ali, Shaunak Abhisheki, Osman Mir and upcoming ones.

The event will exhibit installations, visual art by renowned artistes, hands on experience workshops on visual art and photography; classical, semi-classical, contemporary to Indian folklores and culinary art with chefs presenting live food demonstrations and workshops on national and international cuisines, sand art, theme-based rangoli and Kids Zone.

"Thane is one of the most diverse cities in Maharashtra, where we encourage, promote and showcase India's rich and diverse heritage. The festival has created a niche for itself in the cultural calendar of the city," said Pratap Sarnaik, chairman of the festival.
