Also known as Blue Sea Bridge, it connects Rameswaram on Pamban Island to rest of India and is the second longest bridge in India.
Nilgiri Mountain Train - Mettupalayam to Ooty
Probably the very few railways that still run on steam, this Nilgiri Mountain Train has been running since 1908 from Mettupalayam to Ooty. The route is ecstatic as it passes through the Nilgiri Mountain with thick pine, eucalyptus and oak forests around with the bends, curves, and tunnels. Darjeeling Himalayan Railway - Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling
This beautiful rail route is one of the five Mountain Railways of India World Heritage Site known for its amazing journey. It is a toy train journey is the one that runs from Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling. You can witness the transformation of the climate as Jalpaiguri is a plain while Darjeeling being a hill station – the route gives you a breathtaking view of snowy peaks of the Himalayas and the magnificent Kanchenjunga. This route was declared as a World Heritage by UNESCO.
Hubli to Goa (Madgaon)
This route is considered as one of the most breathtaking views for passing through the Western Ghats and for the exquisite view of Dudhsagar Waterfalls along the route. Literally known as "Sea of milk", Dudhsagar falls came into the spotlight after being shown in Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s blockbuster - Chennai Express. It looks like a thin-tiny stream from far but as the train goes closer it’s humongous and sheer beauty with the gushing water sound will leave you awestruck.
Kalka to Shimla
Yet another splendid route from Kalka to Shimla with snow-clad valleys, this toy train is another World Heritage. With the upslope route of 96 km, 102 tunnels and more than 85 bridges – the route passes through forests of rhododendron, deodar, pine, and oak. The train moves in a slow pace due to the upward slope which gives you a lot more time to admire the nature’s bounty at ease. It is considered one of the best North Indian train journeys.
Coastal Kerala – Ernakulum to Trivandrum
A train ride beginning from Ernakulum, up to Trivandrum is one of the most spellbinding ways to experience the magic of Kerala. This journey almost includes the true essence of Kerala with the view of the beautiful crystal clear lakes, the placid backwaters, the rich coconut grooves, paddy field and many other Kerala charms. Snow Train - Srinagar to Baramulla
