History Of School

Saraswati Vidyalaya, High School was conceptualized in 1981 to impart quality education. The township of Thane was fast growing into a mega city. Growth being our mantra, Saraswati Vidya Prasarak Trust decided to launch Saraswati Vidyalaya at Ghodbhunder Road, extending their 25 years of educational experience to the ever expanding city.

The school commenced in the year 2008 has been administered under the able guidance of our administrator Mrs. M. S. Korde and Principal Late Mrs. Shobana Naik. They have nurtured and developed the roots of the school with their excellence and have given in the strong hands to the Principal Mrs. Jayashree Krishnan in the year 2013. She have taken over the charge and have raised the bench mark for the school with her out of the box thinking and expertise in management.

The roots sown in 2008 have now cherished with the school having more than 1700 students from pre-primary to Jr. College. It is well equipped with all modern infrastructures.

Over a decade, the school has scaled one peak after another and achieved accolades in all spheres of development. With a rich array of achievements over the years, the school continues to march ahead with zeal and enthusiasm.

In the year 1997, the Trustees started the Junior College of Science and are the pioneers in introducing bi-focal vocational course (Computer Science) in Thane. The inauguration of the new branch of the school at Ghodbunder Road in 2008 is a matter of great pride for the Trustees, the Principal and all those connected with the school.

Our School trustees who stand by us in all circumstances help for the educational growth and overall development of children in real terms. They are professionals working in different fields.

LIBRARY

Libraries are the storehouse of knowledge and books. They are keys to wisdom. A plethora of books to kindle the imagination of our young ones, is available in our library. The school has one library stocked with more than 3000 books ranging from reference books to fiction,nonfiction,perodicals,encyclopedias,newspapers etc.

LABORATORIES

The adequately equipped Science Laboratory inculcates the spirit of experimentation, innovation, research and discovery in the minds of the students. The practical sessions conducted in the labs, apart from making learning fun, enhance the level of understanding of the various scientific theoretical concepts. It serves as a platform for the future scientists. Hands on experience is provided for all the students while teaching Biology, Physics & Chemistry.

COMPUTER LAB

Children are introduced to the world of computers right from Std.I. The School aims at training and preparing the students for future challenges. There is a separate computer lab which caters to the need of vocational stream of the H.S.C. students.

AUDIO VISUAL ROOM

School has a well equipped and air conditioned Audio Visual room for use of students and staff to enhance "Teaching Learning Process". The room is equipped with a smart board, LCD Projector, CCTV camera and computer. Arrangements have been made in this room for participating in the educational programmes for both teachers and students.

SMART DIGITAL EDUCATION

The school has introduced Smart Boards to make the Teaching – learning process more interesting & effective.

ART & MUSIC ROOM

For the development of fine arts, the school has separate rooms for art and music.

PLAY AREA

For the little ones, an indoor play area can bring on a lot of smiles. Children play freely here on a range of quality rides and toys, all of which are well maintained. The room is carpeted completely with foam interlocking mats to ensure no slips or nasty bumps on those foreheads.
