THANE: You can soon see all the popular landmarks of Thane by visiting in one park.

The work on the park has been going on for eight months and it will cost Rs16 crore.

The first theme park in the city, the Old Thane New Thane theme park coming up at the Patilipada signal at Ghodbunder is set to open around first week of December.

Miniatures of Dadoji Konddev Stadium, train representing the first train which started from Thane, the oldest church and Gadkari Rangayatan among others have been built in on 3600 square metres, making it a mini Thane.

The plot where the park is taking shape was barren until a year ago.

A civic official requesting anonymity said, “Around 90 per cent work of the park is complete and we can open it for the public by December first week.”

It has miniature models of St John the Baptist Church, Thane jail fort, Kopineshwar temple, Ram Ganesh Gadkari theatre, Ambedkar statue at Court Naka and Dadoji Kondev stadium.

“We have also replicated the Masunda lake with the Shivaji statue and the Thane creek along with the old railway creek bridge,” he said.
