19 areas off containment list in Thane

THANE: Nineteen areas in Thane city are no more containment zones with no one testing positive for Covid-19 during the 14-day containment plan or showing symptoms, said civic officials.

On Tuesday, 15 Covid-19 patients were identified, taking the city's total cases to 256.

Officials said 96 containment zones have been identified so far where a person was found positive after which one no one can step out for 14 days.

"For 14 days, we keep tabs on everyone's health in the area to see if anyone has symptoms. After that, if no one has symptoms, the zone is off the list," said an official.

Thought most patients were found in Mumbra, containment zones were not highest.

The TMC has done rapid tests in parts of Wagle ward while Kopri, untill now a green zone, was sealed with 10 confirmed cases till 8pm on Tuesday.
