The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state of Maharashtra has increased to 41. The state reported first death due to coronavirus on March 17. Confirmed cases of coronavirus infections have been reported from cities like Pune, Mumbai, Thane and Nagpur. To prevent spread of the virus, the Maharashtra govt has instructed the district collectors and commissioners not to allow public gatherings, nor should there be any official programmes. The laboratories in the state have been asked to conduct tests for the coronavirus for only those who have traveled to affected countries or come in contact with coronavirus patients, the state health minister said.
The novel coronavirus as a pandemic has infected millions of individuals across the globe and caused more than 7,000 deaths across the world.
