THANE : The municipal corporation has invited tenders for the construction of approach roads and bus stations at the new Thane railway station.

Interestingly, the land parcel where the station project will come up is yet to be handed over to the corporation by the state health department.

A senior TMC official confirmed that they have floated bids for the first phase of the project that entails roads and infrastructure outside the station. The second phase will be completed by the Central Railway where they will develop all aspects required like platforms, tracks and much more.

We have called for bids from contractors for developing the area outside the railway station, including the approach roads and other allied works. The state health department is in the final stages of approving one of our three alternatives given to them in lieu of their land. We are hopeful the process will be completed by the next month simultaneously. we will close the bids on May 25, said the official.
